Ancient Crafts - A series of workshops exploring textile crafts and archaeology
This course (run by Archaeology for Communities in the Highlands) will consist of a series of workshops, looking at different ancient textile crafts.
In each workshop participants will learn how to do the craft and work towards making an item which they will be able to take home with them. |
The crafts and items courses will run as follows:
Week 1:

Cord Making
Week 2:
10:30-15:30, Saturday 15th November 2014
Weaving
Week 3:
10:30-15:30, Saturday 22nd November 2014
Tablet Weaving
Week 4:
10:30-15:30, Saturday 29th November 2014
Naal‐binding
During the workshop there will be a presentation about the history of the skill, all of which were developed in the Prehistoric,
Early Historic and Medieval periods. This will then be related to the history and archaeology of the local area.
Cost: FREE including all materials.
Please note that lunch is not provided.
